"What an incredible experience we had on Sunday April 29,
2007. We had
heard that Pastor Tim Blanchfield would be giving a presentation of his
monologue on the life of the Apostle Peter at each of the two morning
services. I had come to know Tim in the summer of 1998 at the
Hudson
Valley New Life Bible Institute were he was a student. I was also
present at his ordination several years later. I was blessed to
be able
to attend the service.
I was captivated by Tim's insight into Peter's life. Peter seemed
to
have a very confused personality, but Tim brought sense to it for
me. He
presented Peter as a man with a quick temper and quick tongue.
Yet under
that impulsive personality lay a man with a deep sense of love and
faith.
He was a man who not only said he would die for Jesus - he did!
All
this came through the performance.
Tim's presentation technique was superb. It used the full range of
emotion which I imagined Peter to have. His diction and stage
presence
were faultless and his costume was perfect. I'm looking forward to
seeing Tim's presentation of Joseph and any other biblical personalities
God leads him to interpret."

"Our teens felt that seeing and hearing the story of
Peter made a deeper
impression than reading it alone. More than a few raised hands about
being interested to work out our own drama based on the gospel. It seems
Pastor Tim's creativity in Christ gets passed along in his play! "

"I
was impressed that at no point in the evening did I ever feel that the
whole thing was about you, Pastor Tim. That's not an easy impression to
leave! It was clearly Jesus working through Pastor Tim."

"His production of "Peter the Apostle" is excellent and
worth experiencing. The congregation of St Marks really enjoyed
seeing St. Peter. We were brought back in time to when this
disciple of Jesus walked about Israel. This was dramatically
accomplished without props or changes in the church's decorum."

"Timothy
Blanchfield has explored scripture and pulled together a
Biblically-accurate and imaginative drama based on the life of the
Apostle Peter. In period dress, he gets into Peter’s skin and
recounts the story of his friendship with Jesus of Nazareth. He has
performed this 50-minute one-man show numerous times before a variety
of audiences. Recently, he adapted the material so that it could be
presented in place of a 30 minute sermon at our church.
His dramatic gifts draw a congregation into Peter’s story,
effortlessly giving them an overview of the entire life of Jesus Christ
and his earthly ministry. His drama is actually a great teaching tool
for those new to Christianity, who may never have pieced together all
the aspects of Jesus’ life and teaching. In addition, he brings
great emotion to the performance as he depicts the depths of
Peter’s failings and his transformation through Jesus’ love
and forgiveness. Individuals are inspired to examine their own need for
Jesus’ love and ask themselves: how could I show as much courage
and be willing to die joyfully for this Jesus? Mr. Blanchfield’s
drama appeals to congregation members of all ages. "
Frank O’Neill spoke on behalf of a group of retired men: "We were
hanging on every word." And 8th grader Tom Foy had this to say about
Mr. Blanchfield’s performance: "It was the best sermon ever!"

"Your portrayal of Peter's life, from Luke's perspectrive
was extraordinary. The ups and downs of Peter's faith were
captivating. Reading about Peter is nothing like seeing him

"Throughout the whole
drama, one could imagine the very human feelings of what it must have
been like to follow Jesus, From the ecstatic joys to the humiliating
yet life changing mistakes Peter experienced along the way. These
are feelings all who seek to follow Jesus and witness to the Gospel in
this day and age can relate to. I would highly recommend "My Name
is Peter" to other churches seeking to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ
in a new and fresh way."
